ABIGAIL MOORE, INTERN

My Specialties: Art Therapy, Couples & Marriage Counseling, Family Therapy, Grief & Loss, Teen Therapy, Trauma

Hi, I’m Abigail Moore and I’m an art therapy graduate student at Pennsylvania Western University. During my undergraduate program at North Greenville University, I experienced the great potential that art possesses. Since then, art has become an integral part of my life and healing journey. Whether or not you consider yourself an artist, art therapy is a great way to learn about yourself, gain new coping skills, process life, and explore your creative side. It’s an ideal alternative to traditional talk therapy methods.

What is art therapy? It’s a form of psychotherapy that utilizes self-expression through methods of painting, drawing, 3D sculptures, digital media, and more. As opposed to traditional counseling, art therapy provides a non-verbal way to process emotions before talking about it. Using the Telehealth online model, the art materials will be up to you! Basics such as pencils, pens, paper, coloring utensils (crayons, markers, colored pencils), and paint are suggested to keep nearby your therapeutic space. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding materials for your first session.

I work with Individuals (14+) regarding a variety of mental health challenges. I have particular interest in adolescent mental health, grief and loss, and trauma informed therapy. I also work with families and couples, however, I welcome anyone who’s willing to get creative! This includes people of all ages, cultures and ethnicities, gender, identities, and more. My goal is to help you take your next step—and hopefully make it enjoyable along the way.
